Introducing PREDYCT

The predator–krill–fisheries coordination project is live. Its first workshop is Friday, August 14.

The Project

20+ scientists · 4 groups · 3 field seasons

PREDYCT — Predator Responses to Seasonal Krill Dynamics and Krill Fishing Activities — is an Antarctica InSync working group coordinating international field campaigns across CCAMLR Subareas 48.1 and 48.2. Convened by SKEG co-chair Bettina Meyer alongside colleagues at the Norwegian Polar Institute and Universidad de la República, PREDYCT organises scientists across four Working Groups: Krill, Baleen Whales, Penguins, and Seals.

The evidence generated will feed directly into CCAMLR’s Krill Fisheries Management Approach (KFMA), currently under development.
